Jac M. Iversen.jpgYacht designer Jac.M. Iversen 1884-1974

Jac. M. Iversen learned the trade as a shipwright in the U.S.A.
He began his career at the family boatyard in Son, Norway. During the time of the great depression at the end of the 20s, the shipyard was forced to close down and Iverssen moved to Gothenburg, Sweden. Later he moved to Stockholm where he worked with Carl Iversen Plym.
He had to leave when the economic situation worsened for the shipyard and opened his own company in 1931 at Nybrokajen 7 in Stockholm.
Iversen worked with great success in Norway, Sweden and other countries.
Iversen designed more than 700 boats. The Swedish Maritime Museum owns about 3600 of his drawings. | Havskryssare3.jpg

For those who want to dive deeper in his designs : Digital museum Norway has a shipload of his drawings to study.
