Palm Island was a short stop for us during our sail through The Grenadines. It is a tiny island of only 135 acres, but caught our eye as we were leaving Union Island. The coast is pure white sandy beach, with crystal clear bright blue water. It is not the most welcoming island though.
There are really no mooring balls, so you have to anchor, and most of the island is completely private. If you want peace and quite, this is not a bad place to be. I remember some guests sitting in the shade reading books with hats and sunglasses on...and couldn't help but wonder who they might be. Movie stars? Athletes? Who knows. This place had almost no people walking around...it was like having your own private island all to yourself.
So we walked around what seemed to be the public part of the island, went for a swim, and soaked in the sun for a bit. We only stayed for a couple hours, as well, there wasn't much to do...and we had to get to our next destination before sunset (as per the rules of our sailboat charter company).
Palm Island is for those that want total privacy. You can find a spot, sit and read a book, sip a drink, and not have anyone bother you the entire day. Such a beautiful place.
