Here's another group of photo's from our Cape Breton sailing adventure as it continues to unfold. I must say, it's extremely hard to find time to even write this post in between the all the boating and adventuring. As I'm typing this, I'm scrambling to get it all done and posted before I'm heading out for another trip again. It's not a complaint, just a fact.
Here's Part 1 - If you missed it.
Bras D'Or Lakes - Part 2
Day 1
This first day shouldn't really be considered a "sailing" day because there was no wind. But, it was really a hot day so we headed out on the boat anyway. We anchored in this little cove and ended up swimming from the boat all day.
@landonator seems to prefer the rocky shores over a sandy one, because there's rocks to throw. You can see him down by the dinghy gathering a few to return to the water. You can also see how close a MacGregor sailboat can get to the shore. This is due to the keel being able to be raised up out of the water and you'd never get this close with a fixed keel boat. It's sitting in only 4 feet of water and it could have gone even closer. It only needs about 18" of clearance before the motor starts hitting.
Hanging out by the shore.
And, after a long day of swimming, @landonator still has the energy to help his Grandfather out as we pull up to the mooring and get ready to leave.
Day 2
This next trip ended up being just me and @davidkingns. There were supposed to be some others coming but the wind was gusting up to 40 km/h so it's probably good that it was just us. We ended up sailing for almost 12 hours straight. We had the sails up well after it got dark.
I didn't take a whole lot of pictures until the end of the day. I got a bunch of video (as I've gotten everyday sailing) so I'll be making a cool sailing video when it's all over.
Once the wind died down for the day, we decided to put the spinnaker up again to head back. Here's some pre sail shots before it starts flying.
The sun was just beginning to set just before we raised the sail.
Here's a Panorama of the sunset with the sail up.
This one ended up looking cool. The moon was pretty bright and it really brightened up the sky above the sail for this shot.
We sailed in the dark for quite some time before the wind finally gave up and we had to turn the motor on and head back.
There doesn't look to be nearly as much wind today but another good day for sailing regardless. Here's a shot of my view as I'm finishing this up.
Pretty nice eh?

Thanks. I did take all these with my phone, except the last one, which was with my iPad while I was making the post. They are taken with an LG V30 phone. I touched them up a little bit with Affinity Photo, but the phone does take really nice pictures.
