Privateer city, Capital of the sea, Jewel of the Emerald Coast... Whatever the attributes assigned to it could ever be, Saint-Malo has always been the setting for all adventures and dreams.
In all aspects, Saint-Malo holds a prominent niche in Brittany. It is at the northern tip of Ille-et-Vilaine, on the edge of Normandy and just a short distance from Mont Saint-Michel. Thus, today, it is at the center of all cares and praises.
Saint-Malo is also a jumping-off point to the Normandy Islands and England. Place of history and myths, cradle of distinguished figures, it has known, despite the dark hours, how to preserve the authenticity conferred by its ramparts, its cobblestones and its old stones.
Saint-Malo which has seen the birth and growth of emblematic figures of the French scientific, cultural and sports scene and of the political intelligentsia is also one of the highlights of Breton and national tourism.
Boasting a proud past, the well-known seaside town is still a modern city always looking to the bright future.
