Saint Benedict

I wanted to write a couple paragraphs about Saint Benedict of Nursia. Saint Benedict died in 547 A.D. His date of birth is unknown but is believed he lived a long life. At least sixty years. Benedict was the patron saint of pagans, and he spent his life living among the Roman pagans in the area of Italy called Nursia. Benedict adopted certain pagan ceremonies, and in doing so he was able to convert many people to Roman Christianity. There is something special about Saint Benedict. It is known that if one prays to him, they are given power over evil spirits. In this photo I show my Sterling silver Saint Benedict medal, and I wear it as a means of protection against evil. It is forbidden to pray by the church to patron saints. That is because there is great power in doing so. Power that the average man or woman cannot control. There are many things that experienced clergy of the church can do that the general public is not prepared or able to do.
Saint Benedict is one of the greatest saints of the Catholic church, but many have forgotten him. I found out who he was when found a rosery on the ground with a Saint Benedict medal attached to it. I started researching who he was at that time and was amazed to hear his story. I would like people to get to know him as well and to discover his power for themselves as well.
