Salak fruit with the Latin name Salacca zalacca is a type of thorny fruit that has ivory white flesh and dark brown seeds tend to be quite large. Salak seeds can be processed into coffee by washing the old seeds thoroughly and then drying them. After drying, the seeds of the salak fruit are roasted (fried without using oil) until they are completely cooked, but do not burn them so that the coffee is not bitter. After cooling, the salak seeds are ground until smooth and ready to be enjoyed into a cup of salak seed coffee.
