The 5 Sales Techniques

Sales is one of the best career choices if you really want to sell and can learn and use these five common methods.

  1. Relationship Building: Everyone wants more friends especially cool ones who know what is cool. This is a friendly talkative salesperson just chattin' it up. Usually the easiest method to use, especially if you like making friends, even if it is only for the period of time leading up to the sale.

  2. Sense of urgency: "We'd love to put you in a car today!" It is the idea it's best to complete the sale as a soon as possible... especially for your commission on the sale.

  3. Fear of loss: "Sale ends today!" The idea you might miss it, such as...limited edition, limited time offer, bla, bla, bla. It is the "Hurry up Sir. We almost don't care" of tactic.

  4. Indifference: "We really don't care Sir. We cater to a very specific target market which doesn't care about you, and neither do we. Wait. Sorry? What was your question again?" They tease you with a mix of curiosity about you and lack of concern for you. This one is my favorite. I can't resist it!

  5. Silence: Using a longer awkward pause will often cause the potential customer to blurt out something that the salesperson can use for their benefit. Abusive couples use this on each other to find out where they have been all night, btw.

Salespeople of the world, get out there and start closing, then don't stop closing until you are always closing and then remember to always be closing after that.
