Colombian Cali style or Salsa

As the name says, this style comes from the Colombian city of Cali. This style is recognized for its rapid leg movements and hip. These rapid leg movements are the reason why it is so difficult to learn this style. Classical figures that are learned in Puerto Rico are not appropriate for this form of salsa, however, that are congruent are the basic figures. In addition, they incorporated into the sauce caleña aerobatics. Rapid foot movements are also frequently used for individual performances (one person). The sauce is little caleña danced in Europe. Cali has positioned itself internationally as an important cradle of salsa, being part of the regional identity and making important contributions to this genre. Singers from all over Latin America Cali visit each year to promote their albums, it is said that "if no hits in Cali, not sell." Added to this, it is in Cali and in Colombia where more sauce is produced at present, being a place where on the one hand, the old salsa is grown, and on the other, new styles and rhythms, such as the famous Salsa choke generated caleña. In Cali they dance with "candela feet." Cali Fair takes place every year and is a reference for traditional and new artists who want to venture into this genre. Cali is also famous for its major schools of salsa.
