Acute myocardial infarction represents the first cause of death in the world, according to the Global Health Status Report of the World Health Organization (WHO) (2018). This pathology refers to a disease of the coronary arteries of insufficient blood supply type, with tissue damage, in a part of the heart (acute means sudden, my muscle and cardio heart), produced by an obstruction in one of the coronary arteries, frequently by rupture of a vulnerable atheromatous plaque.
Avoid it by quitting smoking and consuming alcoholic beverages, doing aerobic activity 3 times a week, regardless of age. Examples: running, walking, swimming or cycling. Going to the gym to do weights does not fulfill the same function.
Have a healthy diet, increasing the intake of fibers found in fruits and vegetables, and the consumption of unsaturated fatty acids, present in fish and olive oil. ¡Take care of your body and God will reward you, guard your heart because life springs from it!
