Salvation is not an equation, but logic can help us undestand what true Salvation is with this explanation..
"Salvation Equation"
Faith-Works = Salvation
Romans 4:5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
When transpose is
Faith = Salvation+Works
James 2:17-18 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Works=Faith-Salvation or Works = Faith on Law + Curse
Galatians 3:10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
THE WRONG FORMULA:
Faith+Works=Salvation
-What many religion teach
Galatians 3:5 He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
When transpose is
Faith=Salvation-Works
-The false grace teaching
Romans 6:15 What then? shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? let it not be!
also
Works=Salvation-Faith
-it is an impossibility
Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
