Learn how to SAMBA from a Brazilian girl.

in samba •  8 years ago

Hello, guys!

First of all let me tell how do WE learned how to SAMBA in Brazil, some of our 80's culture. The brazilian people who was born in the 80's grew up listening a band called "'é o Tchan". What I wanted for Birthday present when I was 10 years old? é o Tchan CD, please. Every afternoon after school we meet at the garage, me and all the neighborhood around to dance their songs, they were always on tv, we wanted just dance like them, be them, the sensation.

What they didm't tell us.

In a child mind we didm't know what "she did the snake go up" meaning. Phrase of their famous song, or maybe "going down the little mouth of the bottle" :

Or maybe dancing like a snake:

YES, that's our childhood! Trying to dance like them without knowing what they were saying or doing, just like a child mind, doing the same. OK, that was weird but that's the way we learned how to SAMBA. We even had this kid version of the band dancing and moving like them,. Google it: é o tchan and watch more.

Ok, after this shock of reality, here is what you want, first step to finally SAMBA and show to your friends you know how to do it. I live in a island in the South of Brazil, very paradisiac, so many tourits ask me if I know how to SAMBA and teach them, so here we go:

First - you step and turn, step and turn like you were killing a cockroach:

After this easy move, you can add a jump every step and turn, little jumps. And then you shake your arms, like this:

watch this video and you're ready for the carnival in RIO next year.

Just move your body, jump, move your legs and arms, be happy and DANCE.
