Geoff cut his paw at the beach and it was bleeding bad

Our Samoyed Solomon has a Collie friend (Geoff), and we took them both to West Beach in Littlehampton, as there are sand dunes for them to play in.

However, both dogs completely ignored the sand dunes and preferred to play on the stones and shells.

Geoff up until this point was scared of the water, but today he seemed to conquer his fear, as you can see, he is happy sitting there waiting for his ball to be thrown in so he can go and get it.

After all the excitement of the beach, we noticed when we were back at the cars that Geoff had a lot of blood coming from his paw.

My wife Sarah rinsed his paw with water and checked it for a foreign object that may be still stuck in his paw, but we couldn't see anything.

Sarah is a veterinary nurse, so we stopped by her practice for a quick patch up. It was closed as it was a Sunday, but she was allowed to open it up for this little emergency patch up, as Geoff and his owners had a 2hr drive back to Oxford after this.

Here is Solomon realising we have just pulled up to the Vet practice, he is very confused.

Once we opened up the practice and walked in, Solomon went straight to his usual spot behind reception. This is where he goes if Sarah has to take him in to work for the day, he loves it.

Meanwhile poor Geoff is being patched up next door...

He was very brave, didn't struggle or cry at all.

Sarah cleaned the wound and bandaged his paw up, he must have sliced it on a sharp piece of stone as it was a clean cut.

An eventful Sunday, and lucky we had Sarah the Super Vet with us! :-)
