The Samsung Galaxy S22 is the entry-level model in Samsung's newest flagship phone lineup, sitting below a larger sibling in the S22 Plus and a massive counterpart in the S22 Ultra.
The new phones for 2022 are largely incremental upgrades, and the Galaxy S22 isn't anything that different from the Galaxy S21, except from a slightly smaller screen and battery.
That isn't the case with the S22 Ultra, which we have hands-on reviews of as well as the S22 Plus, but we're focusing on the normal model here.
The rear camera array is perhaps the most significant difference between the S22 and its predecessor — it's not so much an improvement as a reshuffle, with a lower-resolution telephoto but a higher-resolution primary camera. The Galaxy S22 features a 6.1-inch display, which is 0.1 inch smaller than the Galaxy S20. The change is so subtle that you wouldn't notice it unless you compared the two handsets side by side. The panel uses AMOLED technology and boasts an FHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 240Hz touch input rate.
If you're familiar with Samsung phones, you'll know that they have good-looking displays, and the S22's screen is no different, with brilliant and vibrant colours, dark blacks, and a high maximum brightness.
