Hotel description

The architecture of the Chaweng Regent Beach Resort in Koh Samui combines traditional Thai style elements with modern comfort. The hotel's 145 rooms were completely renovated in August 2010 and have all the amenities of the 4-star hotel. Refreshment and relaxation are provided by two outdoor pools and a first-class spa. The Chaweng Regent Beach Resort has two restaurants: The Chom Talay offers international cuisine with an impressive view over Chaweng Bay. The award-winning "Red Snapper Bar & Grill" serves Mediterranean cuisine. For excursions to nearby sights such as the Chaweng Thai Boxing Stadium, the Great Buddha statue and Fisherman's Village, a specially equipped tour counter in the hotel is available.

Recommendations and criticisms

The majority of guests are particularly impressed by the location of the Chaweng Regent Beach Resort, as the nightly hustle and bustle of Chaweng Road is within walking distance and yet far enough from the hotel itself to avoid causing any noise nuisance. Guests also find it particularly pleasant that the hotel beach of the Chaweng Regent Beach Resort is closed to beach vendors, offering the full amount of relaxation without being disturbed by intrusive salesmen, as is the case on many Thai beaches. The pool facilities are highlighted as particularly clean and there are plenty of free berths. The hotel's gardens are also highlighted by many visitors as particularly beautifully planted and well-kept. Almost without exception, the staff is described as extremely polite, courteous and professional. Regarding the rooms, the majority of the guests are enthusiastic about the stylish ambience and the impeccable cleanliness. However, a number of visitors recommend choosing a Premier room on the upper floors, as the rooms on the ground floor are often perceived as very dark. There are also individual criticisms in relation to catering. The location of the main restaurant "Chom Talay" directly on the beach is described as absolutely impressive, but the variety and choice of food is often criticized. The restaurant "Red Snapper Bar & Grill" also receives some negative reviews, which mainly refer to the poor price-performance ratio.
