Christian faith: But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 6:11

Like the Book of Acts, Paul's epistles describe the problems that the Church faced during its process of transformation into the first world religion in history; and just as in the Epistle to the Romans Paul exposed the theological errors of Christians coming from Judaism, in the First Letter to the Corinthians Paul debated against the philosophies coming from the Greek world, neither the works of the law with the circumcision, nor worldly wisdom can lead man to the promise of the gift of eternal life announced by Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount, that true life which once obtained cannot be lost.
This is why the apostle Paul, following the teachings of Lord Jesus, explained that man is torn between the flesh and the spirit, between what leads man to the truth and what enslaves man to passions, error, and suffering. And baptism as a christian sacrament is the reflection of this passage, from the worldly to the spiritual, from a life full of sins to a life of righteousness ("Whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them" Matthew 7:12). And this truth is reflected in a free call to the grace of God, the life in communion, the realization of the kingdom of God among men: "God is to be trusted, the God who called you to have fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ" 1 Corinthians 1:9.
The Christian community of Corinth was a church much loved by the apostle Paul since upon his first arrival in that city during his second missionary journey he was well received and was able to preach the gospel for more than a year and thus, with the purpose of strengthening in the faith the first Christians of Corinth he taught them with wisdom in his first epistle to the church: "But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God" 1 Corinthians 6:11.
Those who receive baptism receive a new citizenship, taught the apostle Paul with devotion, and for this new citizenship, the heavenly one, Christians formed in the faith must respond to change first themselves, and then society.
