My State of the Sndbox Competition Entry – A Creative Toucan

For this week's entry I illustrated a scene where a mischievous toucan is stealing the sandbox logo. They are so creative and inventive, as well as being a bit of a trickster. I've always loved these birds, with their bold colors and incredibly large beak. They use their beak as a tool and are very adept at getting what they want. I remember seeing them continually flying by overhead in the Selva Verde jungle area of Costa Rica. It is a birdwatcher's paradise, having over 400 kinds of birds. It is also home to many poisonous snakes, assassin bugs, malaria mosquitos, and who knows what else. Oh, crocodiles in the river too.
