After he returned from the seven year war that turned Prussia into one of the five European super powers, Frederick the Great has done his deed and started to build his refuge, where he would forever be sans souci. (sans souci is french and means without worries)

There he found peace and happiness and spent his time with literature, science and philosophy. Legend says that it was him, who brought the potato to the land when poverty and hunger reigned, why he is remembered today as the Potato King.

His last wish was to be buried in Sanssouci next to his dogs, no gold should decorate his grave.

Before we enter the garden, let's have a look around the grounds by the castle.

Now let's proceed and wander off into the woods, take the path amongst great men, Schiller to the left and Goethe to the right.

Embrace the world of the trees and listen to the stories of old times,

discover the magic by your feet and get a glimpse of the spells that live underground.

Ask permission before entering the realms of the old spirit and wait for his invitation.

When the door is opened go inside as a wandering learner, ready to be taught inconvenient lessons.

The spirited warrior who is without fear will be rewarded at the end, these are the stories I hear from the trees of Sanssouci, about great men who ask for nothing in return.

I like your respectful approach, asking the spirits permission to enter. The other curious thing I noticed: Schiller and Goethe must have come AFTER Frederick was gone. Which is fine, as some of the trees may have stood around even before he came around. So it is just as likely that someday your likeness would adore that path along with theirs. Maybe not in the same way, though, those busts do look a bit strange on those pillars. But since you've been made eternal in the blockchain, no statues are needed.

The blockchain has made us immortal ;-)
Goethe was born 1749 and Schiller 1759, and Frederick the Great died 1786. Goethe's first drama, that made him famous "Goetz von Berlichingen" came out in 1773, and Schiller's first drama, that made him famous "Die Räuber" came out in 1781, so Frederick did know them. Sanssouci was built from 1745 until 1747. When the statues were put up and by who, I don't know ;)

Very interesting story and good approach , very beautiful pics.

Thank you.
