These tests have consisted of sections like Reading, Writing, mathematics and an optional essay. Thousands of students apply for this test to get admission in the desired colleges and universities.
But which test is more beneficial or helpful in getting easy admission in a desired institute, well it’s an important choice yet a very difficult battle fought by students with themselves to choose among both.
ACT Test Preparation or SAT test preparation is the key that will decide which test is more suitable for you.
To sort out the issue of which test should take, following is the basic guide which gives the student desired answers of the similarities and differences that will surely help them with the answers.
ACT vs SAT: Timing
The ACT test approximately takes about 2 hours and 55 minutes to finish without the essay, and if the essay is included it usually ends up in and 3 hours and 35 minutes. While the Act test requires 3 hours and 50 minutes to complete along with an essay and 3 hours without the essay format.
Time Management:
Time is really precious in these tests and how pressured the time is during the tests. Students do get issues of finishing one or several sections of the test on time in the ACT. Even in SAT test students do run out of time while completing the test.
You should first manage the time while preparing for the test. You have approximately 50 seconds in completing 1 question in ACT test while 1 minute and 10 seconds in completing a question in SAT.
The type of questions are different in SAT that’s why students are offered more time on Sat then ACT.
- SAT or ACT, the selection on your aptitude?
- If you are not a fast reader but do understand reading and reads pretty well and take time doing it then SAT is your choice. But with the time you get more complex and tough English passages to read. But the passages are short and you have slightly more time than ACT to answer the asked question then SAT should be your choice.
- If you are not a good mental mathematician and need assistance to solve maths then you should go for ACT test but if you are good at solving maths problem mentally and can survive the non-calculator section then SAT will be good for you.
- If you are good at finding traps during the reading and can fill up the gaps then SAT is for you. If you love playing standardized testing games then SAT will benefit you more the ACT to get good grades because SAT being not so tricky as it was in past but it does have some testing trick and those tricks will surely help you to get the benefit.
Both the test are more or less similar, both have little differences yet more similarities. Everything matters on your test preparation. The better the preparation the better the result.
