The country's first satellite Bangabandhu-1 will be flying in space on May 10. The satellite will be launched from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida on May 10 at 4pm (Bangladesh Time 10 May at 3pm). BTRC Senior Assistant Director Zakir Hossain Khan confirmed the information.

The company's responsibility for the construction of satellite structures, launches, land and space control systems, and the management of two stations at the ground level. The cost of this project has been estimated at Tk. 2,967 crore There are 40 transponders in the satellite. Bangladesh will initially use 20 of these. Others will be rented. Ground Station of Satellite Bangabandhu-1 has been created in Gazipur and Rangamati.
