The atmosphere of sadness when they are in Thailand and hope when in Aceh. It was seen on a photo of three women Rohingyas were crying in a boat in the waters of Thailand (foam work, 50x70 cm, 2016).

Then under it is still the same person with a flat expression in Aceh. The photograph was shown at Odysseys photography exhibition at Antara Journalistic Photo Gallery & Photo Gallery, Jakarta, by Agency France-Presse (AFP) photographer on July 22 to August 8.

Chaideer Mahyuddin, the photographer deliberately arranged the photo to show between the bitterness and hope of the Rohingya refugees. In one frame contains two photos of the same refugees with different atmosphere.

Chaideer deliberately compared the two photographs to show that they had hope of landing in Aceh. Photographs of the expression of sadness was obtained Chaideer from his colleagues who took pictures of the Rohingya people in Thailand.

At first, Chaideer was not at the Rohingya refugee location in East and North Aceh. However, after seeing his colleagues there are similarities Rohingya refugees in Thailand, he decided immediately seek refugees.

At the Chaideer shelter meet the people who once photographed colleagues in Thailand. From that meeting, the story of their experience during the offshore. Chaideer said the refugees had wanted to kill each other in the ship for scrambling food inside the ship.

The situation was much different when they landed in Aceh. In Tanah Rencong they get humane treatment from the local community. "I just re-photograph, but the message is that in Thailand they are hopeless, but in Aceh they are treated humanely," he said when met Bisnis.com in early August.

The photographers involved in this exhibition are Ye Aug Thu, Christope Archambault, Chaideer Mahyuddin, Mohd Rasfan, Munir uz Zaman, Angelos Tzortzinis, Bulent Kilic, Aris Messinis, Nikolay Doychinov, Robert Atanasovski, Dimitar Dilkoff, Armend Nimani, Jure Makovec, and Joe Klamar.
