Garden paths

The narrow paths between the beds in the garden and the flowers in the flower beds is a beautiful idea from Europe. They can be straight or winding - equally beautiful, and most importantly clean and practical. The material of the “coating” can serve, including sawdust. So that the sawdust does not overly acidify the soil and does not go into the ground, it is better to organize a substrate of dense black agrofibre. And in order to maintain a clear edge, it is necessary to make borders (possible from improvised means). Not too presentable border can be covered with stones.

Mushroom cultivation

Do you know that mushrooms can be grown with your own hands in a garage, basement, pantry and even in an apartment on the windows? Sawdust is a suitable material for growing mushrooms. If you are seriously interested in this idea or just want to try yourself in a new role, filings will help you.

Advice! For more detailed tips and tricks, see the articles on how to grow oyster mushroom at home on sawdust.

Smoked fish

If you have access to "fruit", alder, birch and many other sawdust, then it's time to get a home smokehouse!

Important! Sawdust and conifer shavings definitely will not work!

As mulch

Sawdust can also be used as a mulching material - not only for beauty, but also as a protection (against weeds and slugs). However, caution should be exercised here. Remember that fresh sawdust strongly acidifies the soil! At the same time, they have a more presentable appearance. If you decide to use sawdust, be sure to organize a dense substrate (dense black agrofibre) and do not lay them too close to the base of ornamental plants. Sawdust, as well as wood chips, can be painted with water-based paint!

As a substrate

Sawdust can be placed in boxes and thermo boxes. They will work as a heater and desiccant, thereby increasing good crop placement in the cellar and on the loggia.

For construction purposes

Mixtures with sawdust in the composition - a wonderful budget insulation. Sawdust (not in its pure form) can be used to insulate walls, floors, and ceilings, prepare “warm” plaster from them for interior work, and even make blocks for the construction of houses and summer cottages.
