The Saya dance is the musical expression of the Afro-Bolivian people, who came to Bolivia in the years of the conquest brought from Africa as slaves to work in the mines of Oruro and Potosí. They were the height, the harsh climatic conditions together with the mistreatment, which did not allow the Africans to give as expected, for that reason they were taken to tropical zones of the country, in climatic conditions more similar to their place of origin. It is so that their descendants survive until today in the region of Los Yungas de La Paz. This dance, over time, fuses elements of African origin with Spanish and Aymara.
