Ministers of France and Germany call for discussion of the Crypto-currency at the G20 summit
Senior officials from France and Germany are calling on a group of G-20 countries to discuss joint action on the crypto currency in the run-up to the summit next month.
In a letter addressed to the Argentine government, which currently occupies the post of the head of the G20 - French Finance Minister Bruno Le Meir, German Finance Minister Peter Altmeier, as well as the governors of the respective central banks of these countries, expressed concern about the impact of crypto-currencies that "may pose significant risks for investors ".
What kind of regulation may arise from the proposed discussions remains to be seen, although the letter indicates the call for "appropriate measures".
A group of officials writes:
We believe that there may be new opportunities associated with tokens and technologies behind them. However, tokens can pose significant risks to investors and they may be vulnerable to financial crime without appropriate measures.
The letter said that crypto-currency transactions could also have a further impact on financial stability for a longer period of time.
