The director of the department I worked with called me into his room today. I got out of my seat and went to his room. He showed me one of the seats in front of the table and said, “Sit down, Tonguç.”

I tied my hands on my knees like madrasah students. All I wanted was to get out of that room.

“How are you, enjoying yourself?”

“Good, good.”

“As you know, the market is not good. We'll cut salaries.”

“Some of my colleagues are waiting for a raise.”

“It's true, maybe. The deduction will be 35%. I wanted to hear it from me first.”

“It is not acceptable.”

“You may also choose to take your accumulated benefits and leave the job. The choice is yours.”

So I broke up with the job. I don't feel any worse right now than before.

Yesterday I was so upset that I couldn't even put on my virtual reality device and play a game. I haven't been to the hospital to visit my mother for the first time in months. Pars came in this afternoon. He offered to go to the Lumen nightclub. I said, go alone if you want to. He insisted on going together.

After watching a few movies at home, we went to the place by midnight. Dancing girl holograms, colorful laser lights, and serving gynoids have given the atmosphere a futuristic aura. The electronic DJ was only playing the music composed by artificial intelligence programs. I expected something more original or something, but the music was ordinary. To stand up to the environment, I had to spend half the money in my wallet to drink. My brain was numb because I nodded a lot on the floor. I was having fun. In that type of environment, people start to experience a common trans-state. You're beginning to think you fit in with the world and people. It's comforting, even if it's short.

A red-haired girl came across me and started dancing. The lilies of her red hair grew shorter and longer as she hopped and bounced in tune with the rhythm of the music. The music made me enthusiastic, I reached out and tried to hold her hand. I don't know what kind of electricity was formed between the girl and me; we had an electric shock when our hands met.

She said there was a lot of static electricity in her body while we were talking at the foyer. If she didn't put a copper base on her shoes, it would be worse. The frequency we caught with the girl was pretty good, but her angry friend did everything she could to break it off. She said I'd better get home.

"Shall I drink my milk before I lie down?” I asked.

The girl turned her back on us and said, “You'll understand.”

I loved the energy that Melis spread; she was an energetic type. Before we left Lumen night club, we had two more shots of tequila from the gynoid waiters.

At the exit, Melisa came into my arm, tossing her red hair and telling me something. I didn't focus on what she said because I was dizzy, but I liked the excitement.

When a second electric shock occurred at the door of my house, she showed me the copper bases of her shoes. I don't remember how we decided to come home. A few minutes later, we found ourselves kissing in the living room couch. Although I was a little afraid of being hit, I liked being around her. I have no idea about what happened next. When I woke up in the morning, I was lying naked in my bed. Melis wasn't around.

When I went to the bathroom to take a shower, I saw bathrobes and towels thrown on the floor. I washed my face and went back to the bedroom. Robes and towels were okay, but it was weird that my wallet was thrown on the floor. I took it and looked inside. All my cash was gone. It wasn't a lot of money, but the feeling I felt at the time was terrible.

My mother suddenly went into a coma, and we lost her in two days. Describing my feelings is hard. I don't know how to get used to her absence. Do I want to get used to her lack, I'm not sure about that either.

I hate this city.

Moving to the village was quick and smooth. I find it hard to believe that I have a cherry garden, a two-story house, and chickens. The two little tractors on my farm work like bees all day long, driven by the butler. I was surprised when my client representative at Agritech mentioned a butler who would run things without a salary, and I thought the company would pay the butler. It turns out the butler was a computer program. There are cameras all over my land. The butler watches the cameras and gives instructions to self-controlled tractors. There's a platform in the middle of the Cherry Garden. When the cherries matured, it was supposed to throw bombs into the clouds so that it wouldn't rain on them.

The company's robot dog was patrolling around the field. I was surprised to hear it had guns and shot wild boars trying to get into the area. It was a ridiculous thing. What if it accidentally hurt someone else? I was determined to give up being a partner in the land, so they agreed to dismantle the guns on the robot dog.

Spring is a little early, but trees are not allowed to bloom. A few days later, there would be a sharp frost. In the water given to the land, there is a substance that blocks the genes that allow trees to bloom. After the frosting incident, they won't add that matter to the water anymore, and the environment is going to be filled with white flowers.

I'm glad to be alone with nature. My friends call and ask me how my days are going. I'm not bored until now, even though I don't do a lot of work. Those who learn my business ask why the company needs farmers like me. I sold our house in Istanbul and invested a lot of capital. I'm a free guard on the land.

24.3.2029
I've had an intruder in my house for a couple of days. I don't want her coming, but I can't say anything. I think she's used to the farmer before me. Our garden has a swing and a play pool. I can't say "take these to your own garden“ to the fat cheek girl. She's a dreamer, walking around shaking her hands and telling some stories to herself. What I don't understand is how her mother allowed her to come here alone. I wonder if she doesn't know the farmer here changed.

27.3.2029
I'm getting used to Duru now. I was worried if something happened to her when she didn't show up yesterday. When she came in today, I asked her, and I learned she went down to the town with her mother. A little robot that looks like a hamster is walking around. It seemed interesting at first, but the metallic mouse started to touch my nerves after a while because its eye was always on us. When I leaned over it to take and examine, he opened his mouth and stretched his barrel towards me. I later found out it was a bodyguard. I'm not sure if there's a bullet in it. They should not give guns to robots.

28.3.2029
Duru's mother came today. It's a little late that she was aware a new farmer came to the neighbor farm. She's probably a few years older than me. She's a hyperactive person who can't stand where she stands. I brought the conversation to her daughter's little robot. There was a bullet in it, but it was bluff so that it wouldn't hurt anybody.

Leyla, Duru and I took a long walk under the cherry trees that blossomed. I felt the clean air of the village and thought I was lucky to get out of Istanbul. In the trees, birds were crowing; bees and butterflies began to wander over the grass as if they were celebrating the spring. Under the white flowers of cherry trees, resembling the veil, Leyla looked more beautiful to me. She's kind of a domestic woman, though.

2.4.2029
I think I have a wild nature. I'm still not tired of being alone. No word from Leyla and Duru today. The virtual butler on the computer gives me some simple tasks. I'm so sick of people that I don't feel bad taking orders from a computer program.

4.4.2029
The programmable plant thing is more common in the world than I thought. I have read that in some agricultural areas, plants do not blossom despite the triggering agent. They're worried about food prices going up. Now there are demonstrations in many places against major agricultural companies. I think nothing will happen. People get used to everything over time.

6.4.2029
Leyla has called and reproached. If she didn't call, we'd never see each other. I couldn't give you a straight answer. I can't be sure of my feelings about Leyla. If we weren't neighbors, I'd never be interested.

8.4.2029
Today, Leyla and I took a walk in the woods above their property. I felt that the sediment that Istanbul left in my soul had been cleared. It sank a spring rain into the end of the walk. Fortunately, Leyla brought an umbrella. Under the same umbrella, we went to Leyla's house by pulling the scent of wet soil into our lungs. Leyla's mother offered us rosehip tea. A voice tells me we're going to a romantic relationship.

11.4.2029
Leyla's mother called and asked me to come to their house in my car. The robot dog was confused and accidentally shot Leyla. Luckily, the bullet grazed her shoulder, and nothing fatal. Leyla was upset, on the way to the hospital, she said, maybe ten times, "What if something had happened to Duru."

13.4.2029
All the robotic dogs that patrol the area have their weapons ripped off. In fact, a legal regulation should be made.

I've decided that Leyla and I can't have anything romantic. I guess she isn't sure about her feelings either.

2.6.2029
I woke up this morning with a big rumble. The system was activated to "protect" cherry orchards from the rain. The system sent three or four bombs to the rain clouds that were concentrated. It would have been a lot of loss if it rained on the cherry. The villagers in the vicinity complain that their fields are deprived of rain because of the company.

18.8.2029
It's been a long time since the cherry harvest. Of course, Agritech took the lion's share. I'm guessing I could barely get along with the money left.

I've had a lot going on all summer. So I never got bored. I'm happy here for now; I don't want to go to Istanbul even as a tourist.
