YOU ARE NOW A CHILD IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD

In this series, the emphasis of the message is on what God has done for us when we receive the gift of His son and believe that He raised Jesus from the death.

In the Book of Colossians , Apostle Paul by the leading of the Holy Spirit, x-rayed that the death and triumph of Christ through the cross delivered us from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of God.

“Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and translated us into the kingdom of His dear son” - Colossians 1: 13

Truths about the Kingdom

• Every kingdom is ruled by a king and the citizens have right and privileges.
• Every kingdom has it citizens through birth or by adoption. Uniquely, we get adopted into this kingdom by New birth (Eph. 2: 19):

Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household,

• All citizens of Christ’s kingdom must have an eye opening experience to see their new citizenship and the accrued privileges. These privileges come because our sins were forgive and we now receive an inheritance among those who have been sanctified by faith in Christ.
• In John 17: 16, Jesus say, we are not of the world. You have to believe this. The words that Christ gave us is what sanctifies us and sets us apart from the world's kind of life. Since we are not of the world, We are Christ's friends.
• Much more, we become co-heirs with Christ. What pertaineth to Christ pertaineth to us. It pleases God to make us share inheritances with Him.

We should appreciate God for what He is doing in our lives. God has delivered us from the dominion and the power of darkness. That is, from Satan (Matthew 4: 8-11). We are now in Christ’s kingdom, under His rule (Romans 6: 17-22).

Do not allow anybody to deceive you again into believing the wrong things for indeed you and I are the citizens of Christ’s kingdom.

Conclusion

We are the children of the kingdom of God. We are not of the world. Therefore, the world will hate us (John 15: 19). We should happy that God has chosen us out of the world to be His special people. As such, live as a special respectable citizen of the kingdom of God.
