STEEMCHURCH: SEVEN FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLES FOR SPIRITUAL GROWTH

in sc-n •  7 years ago

Warm greetings fellow Steemchurch and sc-n Parishioners.
Today we would be continuing with the series: Seven Fundamental Principles For Spiritual Growth.

Read and be enlightened.

STEP TWO: LEARN TO FORGIVE
Step two I'm spiritual development is closely associated with learning to forget the past.
If you want to grow Spiritually, you must also learn to forgive.

EPHESIANS 4:32

And be ye kind to one another, tenderhearted, FORGIVING ONE ANOTHER, EVEN AS GOD FOR CHRIST's SAKE HATH FORGIVEN YOU.

It is easy to be kind to those who are kind to you. It is easy to be tenderhearted toward people who are tenderhearted toward you.

It is not easy to be kind to those who treat you badly.
But notice Paul said "Be kind to one another even as Gid forgave you."
That means you have to forgive fellow Believers too.

How did God say He forgives?
In Isaiah 43:25 He said,

I will blog out your transgressions and I will not remember your sins anymore.

To forgive as God forgives means you are not to remember any wrong a fellow a Christian might have done to you.

I have seen people get sick and stay sick because they didn't practice this verse of the Scripture.
By refusing to be kind and tenderhearted, they become hard-hearted and unforgiving, and it poisoned their physical body.

On the other hand, I've seen people get healed just as soon as they made an adjustment by choosing to forgive tigers.
They didn't even need prayer for Healing.

Jesus gave us the classic text on God's forgiveness in Matthew 18.
This is GOD'S law of forgiveness:

MATTHEW 18:21-22

21 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and unforgiven Him? till seven times?
22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until SEVENTY TIMES SEVEN.

That's 490 times!.
I've heard people say, "You don't know what this person did to me!"

It doesn't matter what anyone has done to any of us.
It couldn't come close to the debt we owe the Lord for forgiving our sins.
How much more should we be wiring to have pity on others-especially on our brothers and sisters in Christ!.

When we learn the law of forgiveness, we grow Spiritually.

Indeed forgiveness is a great and solid principle. Apart from all said, forgiveness eases stress on the mind and makes you healthier.
Make God give us all the ability to forgive

If you want to grow Spiritually, you must also learn to forgive

I was just going to address forgiveness and growth and how relatable they are!if your heart is heavy with grudges its going to affect your growth and bring about instability!!

Well said @jedaijudith!
Thanks for stopping by.

We should always learn to do things as Christ did. He forgave even at the cross.

Wow thank you @sc-n once again for this. Its actually not easy to be kind to those who treat you badly but if we don't forgive men our trespasses, God will not forgive us ours.

Its difficult but its compulsory. If we want the constant flow of God in our lives, we have to live a life free of hurts.

You are right @oredebby.
We should learn to forgive others first to also receive forgiveness.

Thanks for reading.

Forgive all humanity when you sleep at night..

Forgiveness truly sets you free. If you can't forgive there's no way, you will grow spiritually. But seriously, do you know how many times, we have sinned against God yet He's always ready to forgive us? Unforgiviness brings hatred and we all know the Holy spirit can not dwell in such heart.

Thank you @sc-n God bless you all! You are all amazing.

We should learn to always forgive. No matter what anybody has done to is, it can't be in anyway compared to our sins which the Lord has forgiven

Matthew 18:21-22 (KJV)
21 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin >against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?

22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until >seventy times seven.

"forgiveness" i have come to discovered is not for those you are forgiving but for you because until you decide to forgive and let go, you will not have peace of mind and it will eat away at you.

when Jesus told peter to forgive 70 times we was looking out for peter and we serve an all forgiving GOD

Well said.

This is a wonderful and great message. It is easy to be kind to those who are kind to you. It is easy to be tenderhearted toward people who are tenderhearted toward you. It is not easy to be kind to those who treat you badly. But notice Paul said "Be kind to one another even as God forgave you." That means you have to forgive fellow Believers too. It doesn't matter what anyone has done to any of us. It couldn't come close to the debt we owe the Lord for forgiving our sins. Yes,i agree with you.we must learn how to forgive. Our Lord's prayer says so,
Matthew 6:12
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

Great post.

The Bible even says when we have come to pray or pay our offering to the Lord and we hold grudges against our neighbours,we should go back and forgive then come back to the altar. Forgive is not easy especially when it is painful to your heart but you just have to let go so God can forgive you too.

Exactly!.
Forgive to be forgiven.

Thanks for stopping by @omoyiwolabusayo.
We missed you yesterday during our Sunday Bible Quiz.
Hope to see you next week.

Yea,thanks will surely be around by God's grace. Thanks

By forgiving our trespasses is when God would also forgive us cos we are all sinners

Point of correction, 2nd Corinthians 5 vs 17 says: "If ANY man be in Christ he is a new creation, old things have passed away, behold all things have become new."

Believers are not classified as sinners because, we have been washed by the precious blood of Jesus Christ and have become one with GOD.

Thanks for reading
GOD BLESS YOU.

Thanks @sc-n for this beautiful message there is so much power in forgiving and most importantly when we forgive some one lets take the initative not to bring back the anger that were experienced before forexample stay away from people that arise a topic of that person you forgave or even discussing it with other people

Though most people believes to forgive is not an easy thing, Yes of course it is not. We thought of what they have done to us and thinking less of what we lose while we keep resentment.
No matter what our fellow human being has done to us, it is nothing compared to what many of us has done in the past, it is nothing compared to what human did to Jesus and yet we were forgiven ...
Even because of our sinful ways of life, that why Christ was sent to us.

forgiving and forgetting what people done wrong to us will not cost us anything and we should always remember Our Lord's Prayer
"forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.

Thanks for the message @sc-n

This is just for me. I really need to forgive myself first. Thank you @sc-n for the word.

You are welcome.
Thank you for reading.
GOD BLESS YOU.

Awesome!
Forgiveness is key in growing spiritually. It's also a sign of spiritual maturity. A spiritually mature person forgives easily.
Thank you @sc-n for the insight.
