The mere fact that we're given the privilege to see another sunrise, there's hope for greater things in life.

Amen

Here are the verses:

(Romans 12:1 NIV) Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this is your spiritual act of worship.

(2 Corinthians 5:9 NIV) So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it.

Those verses don't have anything to do with success nor is success even mentioned in those verses. The word "success" doesn't even appear in the New Testament.

First let me say thank you for taking the time to read my post and leave a comment. I appreciate the accountability as well. I do strive to be Biblically accurate, doctrinally correct and theologically sound. I also like to be clear in what I stating. I can see where I failed in clarity. Here was my train of thought. Success can be subjective and personal in many ways. What one would call success another would not. That is why i used the word "notion".

Here is where I was not clear. My emphasis was not on success, but rather on pleasing God. The scriptures I used, were to underscore that truth. In all that we do, if He is not pleased, then I am missing the mark. We should start with "is this pleasing to God?" We will discover that there are somethings that we are engaged in we may need to walk away from. Even if we are really good at those things. Even if we are being successful at those things. After all, what does it profit a man....
