That tension will affect your thinking about your neighbors, employees, financial capabilities and opportunities in general.

But more powerful than all these is the essential belief that constitutes the definitive filter of all our perceptions. That belief that directly controls the consistency of the decisions you make in your life. It is about the beliefs you have about your own identity.
What we can or can not do, what we consider possible or impossible, is rarely based on our true capacity, but rather it is about a function of our beliefs about who we are. In fact, if you have ever felt unable to even consider doing something, and your response to someone has been: "Never I could do that "or" I am not that kind of person ", then he has encountered the barriers of a limited identity.

What exactly is identity? It is simply the beliefs we use to define our own individuality, what makes us unique, good, bad or indifferent to other individuals and our sense of certainty about who we are creates the boundaries and boundaries within which we live.

We can describe ourselves by our emotions (I am a lover, I am peaceful, intense), by our professions (I am a lawyer, doctor, priest), for our titles (I am executive vice president), for our income (I am a millionaire), our papers (I am a father, the oldest of five daughters), our behaviors (I am a player), our possessions (owner of honeycombs), our metaphors (I am the king of the hill, I am a low man in the totem pole), our spiritual beliefs (I am Christian), our appearance (I am beautiful, I am ugly, I am old), our achievements (I am the beauty queen of 1960), our past (I am a failure), and even for what we are not (I do not I'm a coward).

If a person is not sure they know who they are, they usually say "I do not know" or they offer the first answer

   Write now the definition you would find if you had to look up your name in a dictionary.

Your emotions, beliefs, affiliations, aspirations, motto, abilities? Take a moment to describe what would be on that ID card and what would be left out to show who you really are.

Now, look at what you have written, at the descriptions you have made of your identity; in essence, to the story of his life. How do you feel about it? I hope you are taking a moment right now to really appreciate who you are, to feel the deepest emotion that comes from recognition. If you realize that your identity creates pain, know that what you call your identity is nothing more than what you have decided to identify with, and that this is something that you can change in a moment.
