La tuna Spain same family of cactus, of multiple ascending branches. It can reach a size between 3 and 4 meters high. Its branches are fleshy and oval-shaped flat.
The branches are responsible for photosynthesis, since the leaves are transmuted into thorns that in this species are small and rare, and even non-existent. Flowering occurs throughout the year, preferably the period from September to March. Its flowers are reddish, with long stamens and rose. It can be reproduced by cuttings or seeds.
