The Lord has given the Sabbath for you
benefit and has commanded you to sanctify it.
Honoring the Sabbath includes attending
all the meetings of the Church. Go to the meeting
sacramental prepared to worship
to the Lord and to participate worthily of the
Holy Supper During the sacrament meeting,
Be reverent and be willing to learn.
Refrain from activities that could
distract yourself or other people during
this sacred meeting. He arrives punctually at
meetings. By doing all these things, you invite
to the Spirit of the Lord to be with you.
Get ready during the week so you can book the
Sunday for the many edifying activities that are appropriate
for the Sabbath. Such activities include passing a
quiet time with your family, study the Gospel, meet
your callings and responsibilities of the Church, to serve
to others, write letters, write in your personal diary and do
the family history work. Your behavior and way of dressing in the
Sabbath must show respect for the Lord and for His day
holy.
Sunday is not a day to go shopping, for recreation or
for sporting events. On that day do not look for entertainment
do not do any shopping; and let others know what your rules are
so they can support you. When looking for a job, express to your
possible employer your desire to attend your Sunday meetings
and to sanctify the Sabbath. Whenever possible, choose a
employment in which you are not required to work on Sundays.
Watching the Sabbath will bring you closer to the Lord and your family;
It will give you an eternal perspective and spiritual strength.
