In its essence, the divine nature of God is good. All good and wonderful things come from above, from the throne of grace, where God dwells in eternity.
Everything that is pleasant, handsome and honorable descends from the heavenly Father, as it is written:
James 1: 16-18 “My beloved brothers, make no mistake. Every good gift and every perfect gift descends from above, from the Father of lights, in which there is no movement, no shadow of variation. He, of his will, made us born by the word of truth, so that we may be firstfruits of his creatures. "
You can very well ask:
What is the nature of God like?
In this passage we are shared more than anything the true nature and will of God. We are urged not to be wrong about this. Do not doubt God and trust him. Because everything good comes from above. There can be nothing wrong that comes from above, the Father even grants lights and in him there is no movement, no shadow of variation.
God is an immutable being, never changes, always fulfills what he promises, is always right and never fails. God has no double mind, he has no psychological problems, or anything like that. Believing in what he says and wanting only good things for us is the right thought (Exodus 3:14).
What does this biblical passage we are sharing mean?
He wants to make believers understand that God only wants good things for us. But beyond that, God sends us only good things. All this so that believers in the Lord Jesus do not deviate and the negative thoughts of God occur in their head.
However, there are other attributes of God in the Bible that clearly show us his goodness. God is slow to anger and great in mercy, that is, in addition to just getting good things from him, also other things in which we are fast (as to bother us, for example) is slow. Also in what we are small, he is great, as in mercy (Psalm 145: 9).
God is the source of all good on earth. God is good with all his creatures. God is the source of all good indeed. All the good things we enjoy as today are from God. However, the blessings to come will also be thanks to him (Psalm 145: 16).
Jesus Christ was also a great example of blessing on earth. He performed many miracles, healed the sick, taught the word of God, fed many and eventually even sacrificed himself for all of us. God only sends blessings from heaven, there can be no curse coming from above (Acts 14:17).
The nature of God is benign and immutable. God never changes and the goodness of his love makes him wait with open arms for all men to repent and enjoy how kind our God is.
