Many are the afflictions of the righteous but out of them all the will free them LORD
Stillness is a term that comes from Quete, a Latin word. The concept is used to name what does not move and, therefore, is in a state of rest. It is associated with peace and can have a positive or negative tint according to the context. In general, it is associated with peace and tranquility.
In this verse we can interpret that all Christians have to suffer afflictions, but of all the afflictions that may arise, of all of them God will deliver them.
It is important to note that in afflictions the human being suffers various emotions of fear among them: anxiety because one of the fears that arise in the midst of these circumstances is the fear of the unknown.
We are worried about our future, the future of our children, family ... and this is obviously a panic that takes over the human being, but can be overcome through the search for God.
God has promised to free us from all affliction. In the book of John 16:33 we read:
These things I have spoken to you so that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have affliction; trust me I have won , I have overcome the world
only faith in God will help us to resolve all anxiety and change all anguish and affliction in peace and hope. When we place our trust in God, the fears leave and we begin to replace them with a stillness that goes beyond human knowledge. We can confidently rest in your lap and bring calmness to our hearts.
Jesus Christ is the only one who can give rest to our souls. If your soul is in confusion, if you are tired, exhausted and very burdened, then you are reading the correct passage. JESUS came to give you rest! You will not rest when your children grow up or when you get married or when your bank account of positive numbers. YOU WILL REST ONLY IF YOU KNOW JESUS. ONLY IF YOU DEPOSIT YOUR LOADS IN YOUR HANDS AND YOU TAKE YOUR YOKE EASY AND LIGHTWEIGHT; ONLY THUS YOU WILL FIND REST. As the Word says in Philippians:
Philippians 4: 6-7
"Be anxious for nothing, but let your requests be known before God in all prayer and petition, with thanksgiving. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. "
