Today I am here to share an important security alert with all of you guys which is all about keeping your personal information confidential because you can get victim of such kind of attacks if you trust on someone blindly and it happens so this is what exactly happens with me @khursheedanwar and with @sahar78 yesterday at same timings, most probably because we have shared our WhatsApp numbers in announcement post of applying as a curator for December. So; below is incident happened with us yesterday with proofs of screenshots of our chat with that scammer who was claiming to be representative of @steemcurator01 team!
Beware of Impersonation Scams!
Yesterday,a malicious hacker has been identified by @khursheedanwar and by @sahar78 while tricking steemit users into divulging personal data by making a wrong assumption and claim that he is a representative of the @steemcurator01 team.
How he tried to hack my personal data or tried to scam with me?
Above in screenshot it's around 9:14 pm in Pakistan when I received a message from United Kingdom who contacted with me with my username and I was astonished that who is he and how he knows me so upon asking he said that I am from @steemcurator01 team but I said that how such a big personality can directly come into my WhatsApp so it was really difficult for me to accept.
Scammer said that he is not actually @stedmcurator01 but he is a person from his team. Now see how by giving me a piece of greed he tried to trap meHe is saying that he will forward my application for being selected as a curator for month of December.(I used my mind and sense and thought that no one from @steemcurator01 team can do favouritism and can give greed to anyone by coming in inbox)Well I continued the conversation to know what he exactly says!
Finally when he said that reply me hurrily and send me around 109 steem then I blocked him because no one from @steemcurator01 team can talk about your assets or can ask to send some of steem to them. Finally conversation ends at around 9:48 pm.
What happened with @sahar78?
Again, same number from United Kingdom at around 9:09 PM contacted with @sahar78 and asks that you recognise me or not, upon this she replied we had not any previous conversation so I don't know who you are.At this he said that I am a person from @steemcurator01 team.
She responds like me that how you can approach me directly but well if you are here then how may I help you.Upon this thing that hacker says that there is a user @aispamer and we want to stop him.
@sahar78 said that let me search his username and he was at steemit and then she confirmed his accoun.Upon that, hacker said that how can we stop a user who is defaming @steemcurator01 and his team as well as steemit.
Upon this she respond I can mute that user from those communities in which I have authority to mute someone or I can downvote his content if there is something wrong but hacker said NO.
Hacker said a code or suspicious number and asks to click on it as this is his personal number and give same piece of greed to @sahar78 that once she done with this task ,he will officially forward his name to @steemcurator01 and you will surely became a curator for December.
@sahar78 was in contact with me at same time and she discussing everything about this conversation as it was suspicious so I guide her to don't even click that number as he is just a spammer and can't be @steemcurator01.
She ends this conversation at around 9:42 pm by blocking that hacker and saying goodbye to him.
HOW YOU MAY PROTECT YOURSELF?
If you want to avoid falling prey to such kind of scams then always keep in mind the following things;
• You should be clear about this thing that,@steemcurator01 can never contact you without a logic and can never asks about your personal data.
• If someone is giving you any greed then beware, because steemit team can never do such kind of things.
• Never click even at any link seems to unusual, malicious because it can cause a theft and danger for your personal information.
• Use strong passwords for saving your personal information and never share that passwords with anybody.
• Check your accounts history regularly so that you may caught any suspicious act or unauthorized access if it is present.
RED FLAGS
Red flags are some of signs from where you should keep yourself far from connecting with someone!
- If there's any usolicited contact you are receiving from somebody who claims to be from @steemcurator01 team.
- If you are receiving any requests for private information, passwords, private keys etc.
- If some unknown contact have sent you unusual links or attachments.
WHY IT WAS IMPORTANT FOR ME TO REPORT INCIDENT
• @steemcurator01 being a big force of steemit should be aware of that contact who is trying to defame him by claiming representative of his team so that they can take action towards him that's why I have not crop his number from screenshots received from @sahar78 and my personal chat screenshots.
• It was important to make a post on it because users can get victim of this hacker by thinking that @steemcurator01 is an influential personality and in confusion they can do anything so for bringing awareness it was important for me to post it.
• There are hackers active so if someone felt any suspicious activity with their account then they should check proper their account and wallet history and should immediately change his password to get rid of any kind of danger or theft.
So,if you also encounter this scam then report here and keep yourself most vigilant and protect your digital Identification!
That's the user who likes to call himself aispamer. He's upset beacuse his constant scamming on Steemit is getting downvoted so all of his rewards have gone. He doesn't seem to be taking it very well.

I don't know about aispamer before but this was really strange way of making users victim of his hacking by claiming that he is representative of steemcurator01 team!
Well!It was good that I already informed other steemians about such hackers!

He's a total amateur and doesn't know what he's doing. He'll get bored soon enough... or he'll get himself arrested. I've contacted the hosting provider that he's using so we'll know his real world identity soon and then we can report him to the appropriate law enforcement agency.

It will be good if his real world identity along with his name will be exposed because I am astonished to know that he is from Lahore (Pakistan) means from city in which I am living!
Then surely you should report him or her to law enforcement agencies!

Yes, I have enough information to report them to your country's FIA. He'll be easily identifiable via his IP address and Pakistan's telecommunications agency.
By using your WhatsApp conversation, they can trace where he bought the phone number from and charge him with Fraud.
And then there's the pornography he's accessed and posted on the platform. Which will also have real world consequences.
I've given him the option to walk away but I strongly suspect that he is either too arrogant or too stupid to accept my proposal.

If you Google Search his name, you'll find a few accounts on Steemit where he's introduced himself. One of his introductions mentions somebody that he describes as his Uncle. It's possible that your network will recognise one of them.

This scam is quite different. The question remains, have any other Steemit users who submitted a curator application received a similar text, apart from you and Sahar?
You deserve credit for proactively alerting everyone, enabling us to steer clear of such scams. I Appreciate it.

I don't know that except me and Sahar any other user receive such kind of messages or not but I consider it my duty to make everyone alert because if it happens with both of us then it can happen with other persons too.
Thank you for appreciation

This is conclusive evidence that a scammer is attempting to defraud you. This is a very brazen attempt. Since all experienced Steemians are aware that the community curator selection process is straightforward, it's astonishing that someone would try to exploit this topic for scamming purposes as well. :-)
