Introduction

I'm pretty sure everyone now knows about Upcoin, the exchange that is paying you $500 for signing up on their exchange before they release it publicly. 

What's the first word that comes to anyone's mind when they read this?

One word: SCAM 

Now when I first saw this, my obvious reaction was " Ah no, not another scam here, there's no way in hell this is real." 

but then obviously the title was so catchy, I decided to go ahead and see what this was about. 

I went to the site and it still says " $500 to first 10000 users who join us on beta-testing." so I thought what could be the catch here? I went ahead and put my email and I got a confirmation email from them, all is well till here.

Then the new link comes up and it says :

The bonus $500 you receive at registration can be used only to cover your trading fees when trading begins. We want to make it clear from the start that this is the only purpose of this bonus.— UpCoin_Exchange (@UpCoin_Exchange) January 7, 2018

The marketing tactic they've used is cunning but petty. At the end of the day, people are going to realise that they aren't giving free money away and they're simply doing this to get more people to sign up. 

I am not saying this is complete scam but then they haven't been clear about what they are giving in return, quite ironic if you ask me since they are in the blockchain space. 

This is excellent for people who are into intra-day trading but otherwise it's not going to make much of a difference in your life. 

$500 for trading is a very good reward they are giving for just signing up. It's a very nice marketing tactic they've used and they definitely got lucky with this one.

UPcoin does not look like a scam to me but their advert is definitely misleading! Clickbait!

I think it wont be a problem to use it and they features they are offering are quite decent.
