Hi my name is Sam Nelson and I really hate scam artists! I mean they really suck big time! I am writing this because I am seeing a growing number of individuals who get suckered in by people violating what I like to call “The Friendship Protocol” which means simply that most people will purchase products or services from a friend because they trust that person and want to help support him/her. But what happens is scammers take advantage of the friendship protocol sometimes getting people involved in their scam without them even being aware of what is taking place. The result is lost savings, damaged friendships, and broken families.
The aim of this write up is to educate you in how to detect a scam, heighten your senses, give you the basics in order to learn how to make educated decisions on business ventures so that you may never experience the heartache of being sold a scam or worse yet selling said scam yourself. There is nothing more embarrassing than being “that guy, who scammed his friends and family.
There are a number of work-from home opportunities that offer a promising lifestyle and very rewarding wages. But how do you know what is legitimate and what is fraudulent? Well there is basic guidelines that if you follow should throw up red flags when a scam comes your way. This is the classic “if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is” (but not always, sometimes any work from home job will sound too good to be true.) So lets dive into what is “too good” if there is no real work involved it is probably a scam. If the work is is too easy (i.e. Getting paid too send flyers etc.) Anytime someone promises an ROI is both illegal and probably a scam. (the only exception to this is an employer who guarantees your wage)
Lets go over the different types of work from home opportunities: 1. Crypto or forex day/swing trading – extensive knowledge and skill is needed to do this, but you can learn with small amounts which is great. 2. Network marketing – The sale of legal working products through direct sales or building a sales team. 2. Home based classic administration type work 3. Retail arbitrage – the purchase of brand name products at below cost and reselling for a profit. 4. E-commerce – The sale of brand-name or white label products through your own online store.
Typical Scams: (these are going to seem very obvious but they are surprisingly tricky to spot, they aren't called scam 'artists' for nothing) 1. Pyramid Scheme – A company which may or may not have working products that they sell but up-lines earn profit based on a “sign up fee”. ANYTIME you are told that you can earn a profit from just a sign up fee (no products sold) the company is an illegal pyramid scheme. Note *most corporate companies use a pyramid type structure without the illegal profits from sign up fees. 2. The Ponzi – a ponzi scheme is scam where an individual or corporation will sell you on “investments” when they are not licensed investors. A lot of people get caught by this one, it often looks legit and often your friends who are selling it believe they themselves are seeing returns, however; when they get all the money out of you and you request your return...your portfolio will disappear like smoke. Note *anytime anyone invests on someones behalf or sells something called an investment without a license they are breaking the law. 3. Spam – anytime you get a message from someone by mail, messenger, email, or phone which you did not inquire about. This is a way of broadcasting to the vast majority with hopes of getting a few noobs. Note *Legitimate companies also spam mail. 3. In the crypto space there is a growing number of individuals selling “mining power"), these people ask for you to create a wallet, send them your wallet login, once they are done you change the passwords and fund the wallet. They ask you to change the password so that you feel confident and secure. What they do, however: is install get access to both keys, wait for you to fund the wallet, show you returns, and wait for you to fund with more crypto, once they have satisfied their greed they proceed to drain your wallet. This is a variation of the ponzi.
Watch out for anytime you have to pay or provide bank information in advance before claiming a prize
