I like that you are willing to rock the boat Bernie and I laugh every time I read one of your posts and the way it is written. That is why I have upvoted this post but I question the validity of that article and why it would seem that EOS is so centralized at this given moment.
For one even technical people were a little frightened at the registration process for the ERC-20 tokens and how easy it would be to recover the snapshot coins on the mainnet. There were a lot of unknowns. So a lot more people who still wanted to keep a position probably kept their coins on the exchange so they didn't have to go through that process. So however the exchanges like Kraken, Binance, HitBTC were keeping their wallets and registering then yeah it would look like large amounts were held by a small percentage because those are the exchanges.
I'm not saying everything is perfect with this launch but personally I feel like I had a fair opportunity to commit the capital I was comfortable with over the past year to the project. I don't feel the same way about STEEM.....I always felt it was impossible to "catch up" with other people on this platform.
My new theory is that you might not be @ned but a Canadian ex pat living in Thailand in a mansion overlooking a tropical beach. My clue is you have said "eh" in a couple of your posts.

In what way is it better ? I personally think its infinitely worse. Information and data is the most powerful commodity on earth. Corporations are agnostic toward moralism to a point of deprecation of society. Basically its no different than a technocracy but it lacks any of the potentially good aspects a technocracy can provide. A technocracy will tend to follow some kind of moral code on some kind of fundamental level. While a corporatocracy has zero issue with turning your dad into soylent green to increase profits by 1%.
There is nothing we can do about this. Its always going to be the fundamental rudiment of power. Those who are smarter will always be more powerful than those who are not.

Agree,, to begin with we must realize that the "democracy" dream has failed and has evolved into a "Oligarchy". I correct this, the first step is getting rid of the "Bought out" corporate representatives in Congress and replace them with currently "Unbought"reps. Then to realize that the "Founding Fathers" never mentioned "Democracy in either the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution. I have told a lot of my friends and now I am telling you: If you think that Steemit or any other Blockchain Platform is Scam or inconsiderate or not equitable. So: Instead of fighting so much and trying to correct the possibly incorrigible, why the you and others who think the same, better join us and create a "baby" blockchain our most ethical, honest and equitable that works?

Steem has been one of the best things I have ever uncovered on the internet. Its been highly beneficial for me even with all of its flaws. I am simply hoping that EOS will spawn more similar platforms honestly. I think it will.

Well, I've been here since day 1 and I know exactly how the launch of Steem went, who was involved, mining, etc. It was, well, interesting. Steem has it's distribution downfalls, but nowhere near the levels of EOS.
I think with EOS, we'll be learning a lot more about who these large holders are and why the ICO was structured the way it was. We'll be revisiting this soon.
If Steem had a community who would actually contribute to the codebase, rather than relying on STINC, it could go places.
As long as we're relying on a team of amateurs to improve Steem, we're screwed.

I dont really think steem will be screwed though. At worst it will just be a solid social media dapps platform. Its not technically that hard to base a game on this blockchain. I have a couple people I know looking into it.
There is a lot of potential here even in a stagnant development cycle. Sometimes stagnant development cycles are a good thing as it allows for people to feel more secure in being creative.

After the initial Steem debacle, I refused to follow the herd into EOS. I of course lost out on a lot of potential profit, but I am not following, party to, or involved in the scam in anyway. I have had a really bad feeling about Stan primarily, and the apple never falls far from the tree. EOS is the next rung in their scheme. Now they can go run off to whatever hole they want with the incredible amount of funds they have.

@berniesanders I wrote about EOS over two weeks ago in a post I titled EOS Is An Accident Waiting To Happen which was flagged by good old friend @dan, fortunately, someone swooped in and generously swung the post a bunch of upvotes to rescue it (for which I am eternally grateful).
EOS has been emitting all kinds of warning signals for months. Everyone has been giving this project a free pass when they ran an ICO without a cap. They raised billions of dollars because unlike almost every other ICO, they didn't implement a hard cap.
The biggest question I have, all those billions and they're only offering to pay out $10k for serious bugs in their bounty program, why? And looking at their bounty page, they've paid out a lot of $10k bounties. EOS can't even reach concencus amongst its holders to stake enough tokens to launch.
