You were directly blaming fuzzy though (which can be perceived as an attack) when the real person everyone should be annoyed at is cheifmappster. It's often very difficult to moderate these hangouts for hours on end, especially when accused individuals are intentionally deceiving the entire community.

I think it's appropriate to request audio being taken down, and for repeated offenders to be blacklisted from speaking (for x weeks) but requiring background checks for every speaker is likely not possible given the often last minute nature of speakers RSVP posts.

If users post RSVPs in advance (unlike this situation) then we can all do our part in verifying the post's legitimacy.

Where? I see around 5 places where I either accepted responsibility for not telling fuzzy about our issues with chiefmappster sooner or specifically saying I did not blame fuzzy for chiefmappsters actions.

This is the first I've heard of "requiring background checks".

That seems a bit overboard when all anyone's asked for is that a show raising funds for projects verify that the person speaking is part of the project for which they claim to be representing.

But if that's too much trouble, then listener's beware I guess and all the projects that get screwed over can just deal with the backlash created because ... who's got time? :|

If there will be no screening I hope that at some point there is some data to show how many projects actually produced a viable product after receiving support versus those that just took the money in a deceitful manner and ran off and/or damaged another project in the process.

I agree it isn't @officialfuzzy's fault. He provides a platform for people to present their projects. Not all of them are off the ground already although some of them are. He is very open about it (it's all recorded and posted to the public). Although I have had a lot of issues with Chief, he's a good bullshit artist. It's easy to mistake his enthusiasm for actual commitment and drive (both of which he has none of). He also puts on a very different face in public than he does in private.

Fuzzy knows me, he knows I run Lucksacks. I can't believe he didn't question this guy or ask me; and I believe I may have even said something to fuzzy about my issues with this guy, if I didn't I meant to.

I of course don't blame @officialfuzzy for this guys actions. I worked with fuzzy for a good while.

But, I do blame fuzzy for not having someone vetting the people speaking on a podcast where people are trying to raise money!

Stop it before it starts. Fuzzy, you're holding a podcast where people pitch projects for others to upvote. I understand you maybe don't think it's your responsibility to see if what these people are claiming is true or not prior to letting them talk, but I disagree.

I think you DO have responsibility to do that Fuzzy, and not just because this particular podcast had someone using my projects name without permission and misrepresenting themselves as someone speaking for my project, and lying about us merging with a website, and lying that some other person has some script that runs our site, and lying that we're shutting down operations AND has been profiting off of my projects name/images/content for months ...

but you owe it to your listeners so that they know the people you are talking to are actually with the project they claim to be representing ... at the least dude. People listen to your show to support worthwhile projects, at the least make sure the people you're talking to have something to do with the project.

All it would take was a quick message to any one of us.

I agree with your thoughts in principle, but so it's clear - Chief was NOT signed up to speak about SPL or anything gaming/casino related last Saturday and was not invited by @Bethalea to speak during her Community Casino project time. He interrupted her time and starting talking about. He was scheduled only to speak about his own Music League project. So his claims with Lucksacks was not something Fuzzy would have known was coming or had time to check before hand.

Also, I am editing the full audio and video from this Whaletank today to remove that topic by chief. This will just be on the full finals I publish, the original raws will be untouched so it is there for the record.

@berniesanders has been trolling him hard and said he won't stop until he comes clean. I don't really support his method but he brought it upon himself. I've seen his past post where he makes vauge threats about lawyers and knowing people who work in the Treasury (threat against @ned).

What really convinced me that this dude is not playing with a full deck is during @officalfuzzy whaletank pod cast he claimed that he knew somone at exon mobile and they were going to adpot his POINTS cryptocurrency. Why would a billion dollar company hop on a crypto made by some random dude?!?! If anything they have enough money and resources to do it themselves.

Wow this is quite the read. And if I may, there are quite a lot of people that are caught in the crossfire, that do not even know about this. I just found out myself as well. I have been participating in these contests, and this is well... crazy that this has been going for this long. I surely hope that everyone here does not hold those of us that have been participating accountable.

If he is indeed scamming, why is he still around?

I don't know all the history of these problems, but it does not look good on those of us that have been unaware, and taking part. And I just started a project 2 weeks ago, and he suggested that I go on the Whaletank to get funding. I have had no personal issues with him thus far. And I got paid for winning with no issues either. You all need to get this thing settled privately without anyone else getting caught up in this.

Well he is persistent if anything. He has been paying out to his contestants but I'm iffy on the Vegas trip. He might do it out of his own pocket who knows. I didn't get to involved in my interactions with him so I guess he didn't scam me perse. I doing think he could find a real "in" with me so he moved on. We will jsut have to wait and see how this plays out.

If you run a podcast for the Steemit Community, please do due diligence prior to having people on to talk about projects. Letting sociopaths run amok claiming to be running other peoples projects to raise money for themselves is not cool.

Agree with this 100%. It's not like it would have been hard to contact you to confirm that he was part of the actual SPL team. The fact that bethalea had to set the record straight in the middle of the segment should have been embarrassing for the show. But I heard no attempt being made to get the truth out of the fraudster.

If the idea of the show is to have people on to pitch their projects for potential investors, the very least you could do is actually verify that their project is legit...and that it's theirs in the first place.

This is pretty amateur stuff right here. Can't say I'm suprised though. Seems to be the norm around these parts.

After speaking with bethelea this came frim a misunderstanding and am glad to inform everyone it has been cleared up. I made mistakes and it is important to note this. I will put my best into improving.

Nothing else will change for the record on this as it is important ti keep transparency of my own misgivings and failures. This was, however, a big misunderstanding at its roots. Sorry beth. We are good to go and i am glad you took the time to help iron this out in voice comms.

the sad thing bethalea is that even though i've paid you, you prefer support someone who attaches this drama to me instead of actively helping PROVE this guy screwed you.

When I went and checked, he did lots of work for YOUR project and there WAS proof.

So how you can jump on the bandwagon of the guy who STARTED the attacks on Whaleshares community as though I somehow let this shit happen is beyond me. I pay people for joining and proving themselves over time (or making an ass of themselves over time).

Dude...it's your show. At the end of the day, it all falls back on you: the sign-ups, the vetting, the moderating, and the issuing of tokens. Your show. Your responsibility. You can delegate that responsibility to your staff, but if they fail, then the failure is yours.

You failed. It's time to act like a grown up and hold yourself accountable instead of lashing out at everyone or threatening them with more of your "I'm doing blockchain forensics on you!" bullshit.

What is actually funny is that @ats-david doesn't "support SteemSpeak." Don't confuse occasional use with "support."

And - as a matter of fact - I have mentioned on many occasions the disgust I have when people threaten physical harm against others because of social media disagreements or token prices/manipulation...as has happened in SteemSpeak. If you're not sure about my standing in that channel, perhaps do your homework and ask the people who frequent that channel.

So we now have proof that you don't bother with due diligence for people who go on your show and ask for funding for "their" projects and we have proof that you don't bother with due diligence for those people who point out your prior lack of due diligence. I'm just hoping for a little bit of effort from you in the future.

If you're going to run a show that purports to give out funding for projects, the very least you could do is verify that they are actually running or involved with a project - as I stated in my original comment. All of these other deflections and distractions tell me that you have no interest in not supporting frauds. Accept some responsibility and hold yourself accountable. I imagine that's what people would want to see from a so-called "leader" in the community.

I've brought it up a few times, and it felt pointless for a while. This last tank I think it finally was apparent. He is just so toxic and dishonest but comes off like your best friend. In the short time I knew him he said he wants me to come to his wedding. Shortly later threatens to destroy me if I don't give him my tokens, and he owns my project and I don't know shit about what's going on. I was getting the impression people felt like I was the villain as he was so untouchable and just laughed everything off.

I'm all for the basic idea of what you're doing, but how do you know the people you are giving money to are the people building the project if you're not vetting them?

This method you're employing would appear to open up many doors for fraud, not to mention a lot of wasted money on your part going towards fraudulent projects/people, that could have gone towards worthwhile projects.

You've just given scammers a green light to come on your show and pump all their scams to all of your listeners, because ... you're not vetting anyone and you don't have time to and you don't feel you have a responsibility to ... so welcome aboard!

I hope your listening audience is not reading this, because you're advertising a cluterfuck waiting to happen ... oh wait, it already created a clusterfuck ... but that's none of your concern, good ole Tuck will clean up Fuzzy's mess for him. =/

@spl Well it is good to know. He was officially the first guy I blocked in Steemit and he was being racist to me in poker tables !
