The first @c-squared / @c-cubed Scavenger Hunt has now concluded. We had four entries for this first week, which really isn't too bad for a brand new contest. Hopefully it will grow in the coming weeks as more people hear about it.

Each week I task competitors to seek out posts here on Steem that included 10 items, and a bonus. They could find a post with an image of the item, a piece or art using the item, or a post that simply mentioned the item. I encourage entrants to get creative, and showcase the posts they find in an attractive way.

Our entrants certainly did use their imaginations a bit and came back with some interesting posts. One of my goals is to have people out there searching for things and finding posts they may not have seen otherwise, as well as getting them to essentially curate these posts into their post for all their followers to see and discover.

It worked! The entrants found some great posts along the way. I really did like their creativity in some of the findings.

Some entrants stuck with what they know best. One used a couple Steem Monsters posts, while another used quite a few gaming posts. Others branched out of their comfort zone and looked everywhere to find the items required.

One entrant figured out one of my tricks in the items I asked for, the 1980's video game character. Well, the @archdruid gaming community was right in the middle of their 1980's video game contest, which made this one easy to find. Hopefully it gave some extra exposure to the contest as well.

I think the most creative entry came from @maquemali. When she saw that someone had used an airplane already, she went and found some art that included wings instead. When she had trouble finding a traditional cannon, she went and found a water cannon used in a riot situation! My favorite choice by her is also my favorite choice of any post in the entire contest.

#1 on the list was Find a Santa Hat. Entrant @thilah is such a dedicated artist that she had to create her own artwork for her post which was of her in the Scavenger Hunt and searching for the Santa Hat! Which @maquemali then used as her Santa Hat post. I absolutely love that @thilah made the art for her post. That is the level or participation I love to see, and it amazes me that she'd put that much creativity and effort into it.

A couple notes in the final results. Two entrants used a goblin for their Santa Hat. The judges ruled that it did not count as goblins have a very specific hat that is different than a Santa Hat. The judges also came together to be a bit more lenient for the Find a poisonous creature one. We accepted all four posts for that one. The rest was all pretty straight forward.
