Unless you're the type of filmmaker who is incessantly into concept development- (for example, story boarding and concept imagery design)- there comes a point whereby all is still in the world of the low to no budget filmmaker. Until various cast and crew can delineate time from their otherwise busy lives to dedicate to the project, or until sufficient funds can be gathered to make a scene really happen, a filmmaker must withstand the aching boredom and high anticipation for 'what is to come' that embodies the doldrums.
The Australian Werecat project stands currently well in the deathly grasp of the doldrums. As we are currently engaging with a potential new DOP, we wait eagerly to develop shot lists for the next scenes on our filming schedule. Though, (sorry to disappoint any avid fans out there), it is likely these scenes may not be filmed until mid February or March. They are the last of the low budget, low production value scenes currently scripted for the film.
Beyond the filming of these scenes the remaining components of the script yet to be shot are high production value, high action, high costumery and high expense! The blood pulses more rapidly in my veins merely considering them as a vague apparition in the distance of time and space. The nervous tension builds and stress levels instantly dry the mouth! But no, in all reality, it is scary to perceive the greatest challenge one has ever taken upon oneself as a filmmaker to be in the not-too-distant future... scary, and in a strangely alluring way, exciting! Let the reign of the 'Werecats' begin! The costumes will be stupendous, the action sequences impossibly human, the lighting bizarre and captivating in it's unusual theatrical sense of the noir.
But before we get ahead of ourselves there are the scenes at hand. The low budget easy and casual fun stuff. There is that to look forward to first. And so that we do! If these doldrums persist the next few scenes to be filmed will be the most perfectly calculated, highly calibrated works of cinema to touch the likes of a film once called Australian Werecat!!!
Here is a photo of a couple of the cast/ crew on Halloween! :) thanks and bye for now! :)
I really hope you get to do all you want. The world needs more werecats
