It's your freshman year and you're freaking out!! Don't break a sweat.
Here are 5 things I wish I would've known going in as a freshman. From a highschool senior to you.
1. Be Yourself
I cannot stress this enough. I understand it might be stressful wanting to fit in or being scared that you won't be 'cool'enough. But there's a place for everyone and every interest. You're amazing just the way you are.
2. Embrace Change
Maybe you've been best friends with the same people since elementary school and going into highschool you're excpecting to have the same friend group. People change, things change. And it's OKAY if you no longer have the same friends. Embrace the change don't be afraid to go out and meet new people.
3. Be involved!
Join clubs! Go to football games! Go to the school dances! Highschool is only 4 years of your life. Enjoy it while you can. Make memories, make new friends, and most important don't forget to work hard, play hard.
4. Don't be easily influenced
You will at some point come across the topic of sex, alcohol, and drugs at some point. Stick with your morals and values! Just because someone else is doing it doesn't mean you have to do it too. The decisions you make do have consequences. Choose the right path.
5. Take it easy
It's your freshman year! Don't stress because you got a bad grade on that test. Life won't be over, it won't matter in a couple years. Just try your best, stay on top of your classes. But don't stress. It's your first year, enjoy it while it lasts.
