in school •  7 years ago  (edited)

Super anxious i been out of school for 3-4 years!!! Been working full time and just have not got around to it until now FINALLY! ^^ I know they are just placement tests and don't really matter just find where you are to be placed class wise, but for some reason i still am very anxious about going in today...:( I wanna do good but i am not sure of how much of school i retained, but i guess we will find out.

Gonna see if there are any practice tests online after this post, and practice for around a hour or so before i have to go..

I am tired of working full time in retail, i need to start moving into school, and get away from the work that's so hard on my body upsetting my chronic back pain.

One day at a time.

I understand your anxiety completely (it was 3 years after I graduated high school before I began college). Don't sweat those placement tests; they're pretty straightforward, and they do a good job of figuring out which class is most fitting for you.
Also, don't worry if you don't remember everything from high school... I had to relearn so much when I took geology in college, but it ended up being a fantastic experience to learn the subject within a new environment.
I'm now only a year away from graduating with a Bachelor's degree, so from someone who was in your place and is nearing the end of that journey, don't give up! Keep plugging at it and you'll get there!
:)

Best advice I can offer regarding college is LOOK UP YOUR PROFESSORS BEFORE SIGNING UP FOR THEIR CLASSES (I typically use ratemyprofessors.com). The difference between passing a class and failing it can sometimes depend on how well it's taught (I failed my first attempt at chemistry 102 because the teacher was terrible. Took it from a better teacher next semester, made a B+)

I just got back, the worst was just parking and finding where to go, once i started the test all anxiety went away, i think i did really well and i will be ready to start a class here soon! ^^ Gonna get my knowledge on.

Thanks for commenting, for some reason i have this just horrendous anxiety around school but it is getting better day by day. Today proved a lot to myself that i can do it! ^^

The tip about finding a good teacher is gold, i am gonna give it a try, and see if it is possible to be used with the school i will be going to, and see if i can find a highly rated teacher. That really could make me or break me, great great advise, i really appreciate it, upvoted.^^
