Moths are insects that are closely related to butterflies and belong to the Order of Lepidoptera.

The difference between a butterfly and a moth is more than a taxonomy. Sometimes the names "Rhopalocera" (butterfly) and "Heterocera" (moths) of both names are used to formalize their differences.

Many researchers have done to divide order of Lepidoptera into groups such as Microlepidoptera and Macrolepidoptera, Fenatae and Jugatau, or Monotrysia and Ditrysia. The failure of this name to remain in the modem classification because none of the classification represents a pair of monophyletic groups.

In reality, butterflies are a small group that emerges from "moths". Most species of moth are active at night, but some are active in the evenings and mornings, as well as those who are active during the day.

The moths in this world are estimated as many as 250,000 species or 10x more than number of butterflies in nature.

These moths or insects are not like other pests, moths don't pose a risk to human health. However in Indonesia, moths are seen as pests that can interfere with crops and human life and also in larvae they can result in clothing, fabrics, feathers, and store products.
