so my classmates will ask the silly but necessary question? what happens if the cold water is below or above 25°C, no direct sunlight and maybe a bit of sugar?

    Below is good as long as it's not freezing, high temperatures and direct sunlight will kill it over time. The sugar will probably just be metabolized. Too much sugar might kill it too.
