The burgeoning #flatearth theory doesn't bother me in the slightest. It's one of many theories, such as the hollow earth theorty, that's taking on establishment #science.
I say good for them! I enjoy a robust debate -- I'm an intellectual, and part of that means that you shouldn't always assume that your preconceived biases are correct. Thus, if people want to make extraordinary claims that the earth is flat, I'm okay with that.
What I want, however, is extraordinary evidence...
This is unfortunately where many, if not most flat earth theorists fall short. However, this too is somewhat tolerable -- we live in a society where we shoot from the hip first (sometimes literally) before we proceed to examine our claims.
But what drives me absolutely nuts about flat earth theorists is rather than do very simple, fundamental research, they make up patently FALSE claims, thereby fatally weakening their position, and discrediting the entire flat earth theory by association.
Therefore, I'm led to believe that the dramatic rise in what society considers a ridiculous idea is driven by establishment psy-op figures to set up a strawman, which is later discredited through exposure of the strawman's own arguments.
Here's where flat earthers go wrong...
Flat earth theorists, including Eric (Tranny -- that right there should tell you something) Dubay, make the argument that because earth and all other planets move so quickly in the universe, we should be able to feel this speed. Dubay even made the claim that he has a weak stomach so he can feel any magnitude of speed.
Other Creationist flat earthers have claimed that they can feel an airplane flying steady at cruising altitude.
That is total bullsh-t.
Question: if you had to take a piss, would you do it during takeoff or would you do it during level, cruising flight? Of course you would elect the latter; otherwise, you'd end up pissing all over the place.
But apparently, if Eric Dubay takes a piss, he'd piss all over the place because he's so sensitive to motion.
Yeah, whatever shill.
Missing the key evidence...
For the life of me, I can't understand why flat earth theorists can't grasp the simple concept that velocity is a vector, and vector has a magnitude AND AND AND AND an orientation component!
If the earth is spinning, and especially if the earth is flying around the sun at God knows what magnitude velocity, then scientifically, necessarily, the orientation is always changing. This means that we are constantly, intractably accelerating!
We feel acceleration. I repeat: WE FEEL ACCELERATION!
If flat earthers want to attack establishment science, they need to go on the offensive, and use Newtonian mechanics against them!
Instead, they make up patently false claims, which again tells me that "mainstream" flat earth is a psy-op.
Hey hope you don't mind if I pimp out CoolHardLogic's youtube channel. If you like what @bullishmoney has in this post, I think you'll get a laugh from this video. I put a post on my blog if you want to see the video.

Flat earth memes and satire are my faves. Hope you like it. Thanks for the post, we need people on Steemit to counter all the flatearth nonsense and I hope we can count on @bullishmoney.

I've been trying to do that on my blog. Count me in if you need any help.

@bullishmoney let me quickly confess, I am an accountant. That means, I knew and still knows little about science. So, #weirdscience is even more crazy for me to chew.
But I think your overall presentation of facts to dispell the theories makes sense for me to understand.
Nevertheless, there is still more evidence required by these theorist to support their 'assumptions'. It's just pure complications reading some of their ideas.
Thanks @bullishmoney. Weird Scientist 😂

Thank you! :) I believe that anybody who searches for the truth is a scientist, and I appreciate any theory that is thought out and honestly presented. Where I disagree with flat earthers in particular is that they spout known lies, which they cannot do if they want to gain credibility for their world view.

I'm glad you wrote about the flat earth and happy that more people are learning about @ericdubay works. It's refreshing to see people arguing with logic and true science instead of just using "the scientists said so" arguments.
Not every flat earther's claim is acceptable to me. One very popular one is the unfounded claim that gravity works by continuous upward acceleration which is made popular by the Flat Earth Society, a clear psyop.
Back to your topic. The idea that we would feel any movement doesn't seem right at all. If we are all moving at the same velocity like inside a plane or a car (linear motion) then we can't really tell that we're moving. When we jump we go back to the same point that is moving with us.
However, any directional change of movement will have a noticeable impact. Earth is rotating around itself and around the sun while all of them rotate around a bigger I dunno what and so on and on. I can't imagine a real life model with all these variables present, changing the direction of movement constantly with a great magnitude and still holding everything in place.
That's where we go to Gravity which is the magic ingredient that solves everything.
I don't understand what do you mean by flat earthers should go on the offense. YouTube is full of them.
I haven't been looking up flat earth stuff for a long time but from the top of my head:
Gyroscope and earth movement
Water level
Gravity
While these may sound silly but they have very important attacks to the globe earth model. I don't have a degree in physics so excuse my incorrect use of the terms. I think a professional scientific approach is needed from the flat earth people
Thanks

Thanks for your comment. I explained the "going on the offensive" as meaning using "Newtonian mechanics against them." As mentioned in my post, many flat-earthers claim that they can feel all motion, which is incorrect. The only motion that people feel is acceleration, or the change in velocity.
Thus, flat-earthers have a very strong argument that they can wield against establishment science but they for some reason choose not to use it. That's what I mean by going on the offensive.
An honest question: did you read my post in its entirety?

Well, you should be making these arguments for them as you seem to be knowledgable. I honestly only read the title and commented straight away :D
Keep it up
