Historical (and some Hysterical) Flat Earth Newspaper Articles (#3) gathered by Dean Hawk

in science •  7 years ago

This is the third in a series of old newspaper articles unearthed by Dean Hawk youtube channel. Dean discovered these gems after first hearing about flat earth. He went to his local library to research and found over a hundred articles and passed them on to be read aloud and shared. Fascinating to see how the globe theory was challenged and ridiculed and disbelieved by many people right up until very recently.

This article is from The Birmingham Post, October 24th, 1966 and shows the way the media is really telling the masses how to think, what to think, in preparation for their massive moon landing hoax propaganda in planning, just three years away.
It shows Samuel Shenton, then leader of the original IFERS (International Flat Earth Research Society, currently re-established by Eric Dubay) as a kind man, gentle with his encouragement of researchers- "those with eyes to see", "dont pack up after getting stuck on one point".
It included notes of supporters, one from The Court of Common Council From the City Of London, one from the missile section of a large American Corporation (another who shall remain nameless) who wanted to know more in case he needed help to "subdue the public, should the theory be revealed as fact", and one concerned citizen living near Cape Kennedy who wanted to further the revelation of the flat earth from "within the enemies lines "
Also interesting George Bernard Shaw is shown as a supporter of the inquisition, who then gives a distracting unscientifically supported idea of earth being a "cylinder". Hmmm ...early trolling I wonder?
