It is 10 times more powerful than any other laser (of its type) on the planet. That is the claim by a team of British and Czech scientist who built the "high peak power laser".

"Bivoj" Laser

Scientist from a Czech state R&D project, High Average Power Pulsed Laser (HiLASE), and Britain's Central Laser Facility (CLF) developed the "Bivoj" laser. The laser is named after a mythical Czech strongman. On 16 December 2016 the Bivoj laser broke the "magical barrier" for laser power by achieving an output of 1,000 watts. For lasers of its type Bivoj set a new world record.

Not Just for Death Stars

The Bivoj laser weighs in at 20 tonnes and has a price tag of $48 million. CLF and HiLASE engineers see applications for Bivoj in aeronautics, automotive, and power industries. Unlike "peak power lasers" the Bivoj laser is has the highest average power.

True Death Star Lasers

The current "peak power lasers" are true death star type lasers. Their peak power is measured in petawatts (1 petawatt equals one million billion watts). These lasers can only attain peak power several times a day.

What about the French projects: the megajoule and petal lasers? Shouldn't they be added to this list?

The article I based this post on did not mention the French projects. I am surprised the article did not mention them.
