Avete mai sentito parlare del fotovoltaico organico? No? Beh, è normale. È una delle ultime frontiere delle fonti rinnovabili che promettono di rivoluzionare il nostro futuro.
Ma cos'è effettivamente?
A differenza del "solito" e ormai consolidato fotovoltaico con pannelli al silicio, in quello organico vengono utilizzate molecole e polimeri al posto del pesante è costoso silicio.
Sebbene l'efficienza sia ancora molto bassa e presentino alcuni problemi di durata nel tempo (i raggi UV e l'umidità ne sono la causa principale), sono sicuramente da tenere in considerazione.
Principalmente perché:
•non viene fatto uso di silicio puro, perciò i costi sono più contenuti;
•con 1 kg di sostanze organiche si potrebbe coprire di pannelli solari un intero campo da calcio;
•le celle vengono stampate come se fossero delle riviste, rendendo la loro produzione veloce e piuttosto semplice;
•la stampa può essere fatta su film plastici trasparenti, creando pannelli leggeri al contrario di quelli al silicio.
Con questo metodo di produzione è perciò possibile creare moduli di qualunque forma; in questo modo tutto potrebbe produrre energia, dalle vostre finestre, alle pareti di casa, alla vostra auto, allo zainetto che vi portate sempre dietro.
Ovviamente molta ricerca deve ancora essere fatta a riguardo, ma sono molto fiducioso che tra non molto potremmo avere un mezzo versatile ed economico per produrre energia.
