When it takes six months to travel to the next nearest speck of dust , the speck of dust you're on seems a lot more valuable.

    refueling on the moon, escape velocity there is much lower. so lower fuel demand. then you have europa for water hydrogen from jupiter and saturns titan.
    energy is the only demand and is the only reason we never get our feet of the ground. contradictio in terminis
