Preamble

Welcome to the my second post about Quantum Physics if you are interested in this topic go and check out my first post about the >Double-Split-Experiment< and thank you for beeing here!

Before we start our Journey into the smallest known particles, I want to clarify that all the information in this post is information i collected for my own general knowledge. I´m not a physicist and there will be no bibliography. The reason i´m sharing this post is because i´m fascinated by this topic and i want to share this facsination with you. This here is just a foretaste and i can´t guarantee 100% reliability. If you find it interesting you should inform yourself and i guarantee you´ll find out that this here is just the tip of the iceberg. I´m looking forward to discuss with you about this topic.

Quantum Physics In General

Next to the Theory Of Relativity, Quantum Physics is the second cornerstone of modern physics and deals with the “behavior” of the smallest particles (e.g. photons, electrons etc.).
The Reason why Quantum physics had to be discovered was because conventional physics had reached its limits. Many results out of experiments in the scale of molecular structures and below disagreed with our physical understanding and they still do.

There are a lot of mindblowing and interesting aspects within the Quantum Physics and today we are going to take a closer look at one of them.
But I have to point out that we still aren´t anywhere near of scratching the surface of its whole range. The topic we are going to look at is called Quantum Entanglement. To make sure that you understand everything you should check out my post about The Spin of an Electrone. I made an extra post cause i dont want this one to get too long!

Quantum Entanglement

Quantum Entanglement is phenomenon which describes particles which are connected in a specific way and have interdependent attributes even when they get separated from each other over a far distance.

Illustration of how entangled photons are created

An Entangled Photon can be created by firing it through a special crystal which is seperating it in a vertically-polarized photon and a horizontally-polarized photon.

Illustration of correlating Electrones (Experiment)

To fully understand this Experiment, like i said before, you need to have an idea about what the Spin of an Electron is. So make sure to check out my short post about that.

Experimental Setup

In this Experiment there is a device which can create entangled electrones and shot them in opposite directions. Moreover, for each entangled electrone, there is a device to determine the electrone´s spin. For those of you who where to lazy to read the Post i mentioned before, the spin can either be declared as up or as down.

First Experiment

We are going to fire the entangled electrones and then determine their spin at the exact same moment.
1.gif
The result we get is that one of the electrones will always have the opposite spin of the other one.

Second Experiment

This time we are first going to determine the spin of one electrone and after that the spin of the other one.
2.gif
As we know from the other Post, electrones are in Superposition until their spin gets measured. But this experiment show that, as soon as you try to determine the spin of a single entangled electrone the spin of the other one get´s set at the same moment. I know That sounds crazy, Einstein didn´t believe this either and he said it has to be like a pair of gloves and each is in one box. And as soon as you open the box and find the right glove, you automatically know that in the other box has to be the left glove. Well that sound Plausible but now comes the mindblowing part.

Changing the Spin of entangled electrones

There were made more experiments with entangled electrones, experiment inwhich they changed the spin of one electron and the other electron changed its spin at the exact same time. They both change their spin simultaneously, regardless of their distance to each other. That means they somehow are exchanging information faster than light, faster than anything imaginable, its just infinit speed. Even Einstein could that believe this and he called i a "spooky remote effect".

Conclusion

Quantum Entanglement... as i heard about this experiments it really changed my view to this world. Because somehow everything should be "entangled" every little bit of matter came out of what we call "The Big Bang" that could mean that we all once where ONE. And that is letting me believe that everything is entangled. The Sun, the Earth, the nature, animals, plants, stones, Humans, the cells in our brain which enable us to think... So maybe there is a small possibilty that we can change the Universe we are living in by just using our Minds. It´s worth thinking about it.

Great post, I found this very interesting and exciting as you do, same for the double slit experiment. You probably watch PBS Space Time, if not I recommend it. I believe we live in an simulation and quantum physics is just an easy way to optimise the simulation. We will never know that for sure because if someone proves it they will probably rollback the simulation and change something, but still I don't care. Maybe it already happened multiple times but we don't know that. Keep up the good work. :) Also check the scalar waves and Nikola Tesla's work about scalar waves, very interesting and mind boggling.
