Have you ever though of a situation where you could save someones life with what you are eating.Some times ago scientists tried hard to recreate blood vessels network and even heart muscles with a lots of techniques including 3D printing with all the techniques ending up in failure,this I due to lack of vascular networks in the materials used in this techniques.Plant leaves could help,most especially thay of the spinach leaf.

Researchers at Worcester polytechnic institute are now turning the spinach leaf into heart tissues,the main trouble in creating synthetic organ is the blood vessels which are tiny,delicate and thin,this makes synthetic tissues difficult to make from scratch.

First, they modify the spinach leaf in the lab by striping the spinach leaf of all the plant cells contained in it,this can be achieved by washing the spinach leaf with detergent,This process preserves the plant's vascular system,then the researchers seed them with cardiac tissue.This makes the leaf completely clear (transparent),after some days the tissue starts beating like a normal heart,Then,they pump in a blood like liquid which shows how the vessel(spinach leaf) could work.

This new tissue could someday help cure lots of cardiac diseases possibly by grafting spinach leaf as heart tissues and better filter blood to damaged tissues in the body.
